Monthly Evermore Theme: December – Frozen Beauty
What happens when beauty endures by surrendering to the cold?
Hello everyone!!🥀
Yet another month has passed us by as we leave the autumn season behind and move towards the chilling winter.
✨ Introducing This Month’s Theme - Frozen Beauty
Now that the fallen grace of orange leaves have withered away, the earth prepares for an upcoming winter. The snowflakes glitter in the clear blue sky and promise that, for a just a single moment—beauty is eternal. There is certainly an elegance to the biting cold, but only if you care to see it…For the month of December, we will be delving into the theme of Frozen Beauty.
Whether it is a Winter Queen watching over her frozen dominion, the everlasting peace found in stillness, or crystalized formations glittering like ice, beauty can often be frozen by time, memory, or love. Consider what this means to you and how you wish to explore it through your own unique voice.
This challenge is open to all writers of any genre. Whether you write science fiction, romance, or gothic horror—I want to read it all!! Part of the joy with creativity is seeing all the different ways we can interpret a theme and then coming together to extract meaning from our varying perspectives.
Please share your stories, poems, or fragments and tag me in your post. I will also be providing a thread in my sub chat for you to post your links. Feel free to also post the link in the comments of this post.
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with!!
📚 Highlights from Last Month – Fallen Grace
Last month we explored the theme of Fallen Grace to keep our hold on the season of decay. Whether it is the nobleman of a fallen house, the crumbling of a once held faith, or the shattering loss of purity, fallen grace leads us into a descent like no other. Here is how our community has explored it:
This story by A Writer’s Voice about a vampire poet and his love for a woman named Maria is a beautifully written take on the theme. It is also a tender meditation on what you are willing to sacrifice for love.
Artemis brings us a classically gothic tale weaved with Korean mythology exploring fallen Grace. As the daughter of the pious Foxe family, she must uncover their dark family secret and face her own religious guilt.
A haunting, yet prescient take on the theme by chrysalis about the obsession with artificial beauty in the age of modern social media influencers that belongs on an episode of Black Mirror.
Full of classical references and dripping with gorgeously dark imagery, this poem by Alejandro Victor Padron explores the theme of fallen grace through a descent into an intoxicating, unholy romance.
And if you would like to see how I explored the theme of Fallen Grace in November…

Or, if you prefer, you can buy me a coffee. Just think of it as tossing a coin to your word witch. Either way, your readership is more than enough!

oh my gosh I have been searching for inspiration for my December 14th story! I'm going to use this! Thank you so much Coral!
Ok, this is part one of a serial that sprouted from the idea of endless night. The next parts should come out over the next few days! Just need an editing.
