Author’s Note: This poem, like many of my poems, was written from the sudden urge to release an emotion I was holding in. It was right after starting my therapy journey towards healing and reading Carl Jung that I wrote this on the notes app of my phone while on a walk.
Read while listening for maximum immersion:
I, Coral, shall cut myself open,
And bare these insides raw.
Watching as it pours Evermore,
Out and out and out, let me out!
Shall I emerge from the depths
Of this night sea journey?
Hidden, repressed, I must confess!
Tears shall merge with the ocean.
Take heed, for now— all is in motion.
No! I shall not drown, that I will not allow!
Gliding through these murky waters,
I shall be reborn from the slaughter.

Cutting yourself open and baring your insides raw is what you do every time you write. :-)
I loved the line "Tears shall merge with the ocean."
For me that was very evocative.
